Bird Quiz

 Blackbird

Here's a quiz that will be fun to sink your teeth in, especially if you're a sound editing freak, an ornithologist or perhaps both.

You will need a little knowledge from both fields to succeed. Furthermore the use of an audio editing programme is essential.
The audio file is in the wav format and takes up 692 kB.

You may win a classical CD if you are the first to e-mail the correct answers to to me

Participation is free and there are no obligations - just fun for you and me. All I ask you is to tell me how you came across
Taboo-Breaker when you send your reply.
I suggest you try to find the answers in the order in which the questions appear below.

You are listening to the modified recording of a European songbird that sounds like a parrot.

The three questions are:

1. Was the pitch changed up or down?
2. How many octaves was the pitch transposed?
I accept either the Latin or English name of the songbird.
