 | | Olbers Phenomenon |
The Olbers Phenomenon continues to puzzle me.
- How can you expect a finite sized object, such as a quasar, a galaxy or a star, to be visible when its distance approaches "infinite"?
- How can you expect the night sky to be as bright as the sun's surface when both light intensity and a body's apparent surface area decrease with distance?
My question referring to the Olbers Phenomenon:
- Why should we see a blazingly lit night sky if light intensity diminishes with the square of the distance?
