Once there was a phase in life when our parents opened our
eyes by explaining that there are "two kinds of people"
like with birds and bees. And now astrologers want to make us
believe there are twelve kinds! Being a rather scientifically
oriented sceptic myself, I have come to believe there are really
millions of kinds of people. Mentally, this huge mass can be
reduced by dividing it into races or types at best.
Partition according to planetary configuration or stellar
constellation during birth is bare nonsense, alas profitable
nonsense.
Hitherto, not a single astrologer was capable to explain how,
exactly a stellar constellation is to influence a human's future
fundamental character at birth. True, certain earth-near bodies
exert an important influence on our environment and even on
ourselves. The sun comes to mind, making life possible in the
first place. Then the moon controlling menstruation and the
tides. Finally, the unceasing rain of cosmic particles and the
variable bombardment with radiation may produce certain changes
in us.
Remember that astrology originates from a time when solar
eclipses, the apparently erratic path of planets, the occurrence
of comets or the coming and going of sun spots were not as well
explained as they are today. No wonder medieval man tried hard to
find a steering mechanism in the starry sky for his constitution
and his fate .
Of course the character of man is not formed during his birth
month or even birth hour, but before as well as long after birth.
The "constellation" of genes and of the environment
influence human behaviour, character and thus fate to a much
greater extent than the position of the 55 million kilometers
distant Mars during the hour of birth.
Let us not forget that what we call stellar constellations are
randomly drawn lines between bodies situated at enormously
variable distances. In these products of fantasy the predecessors
of modern astronomers saw mythological figures which controlled
the fate of their very small universe.
