Why all the fuss raised by the media as the year 2000 approaches?

What it really means is rather sobering:

That the earth has orbited the sun once since the last time we celebrated the occasion of a "New Year".
Not less; not more.
Why?

• The decimal system is not anchored in nature.
  

• Many cultures do not believe that the Creator of the Universe had a "son", born as a human being 1999 years ago.
