Development Aid

The countries most in need of our economic help are the ones suffering most under their own population pressure.
Our aid to developing countries can and may only be in the form of assistance to self-help.

In a simplified metaphor, this kind of aid should rest on three pillars:

Re-forestation is the most important indigenous measure in developing nations to stabilise the local climate, stop desertification and thus improve conditions for subsistance farming. It goes without saying that the elimination of deforestation results in the same effect.
If you can verify that your contribution to development aid is used for the education of children, rest assured it is money well placed for it invests in the country's better future.
Beyond doubt, the suffering of people in developing nations and the destruction of their environment are perpetuated by the relentless lead of population growth over food production, health care or social improvements. We and they should learn to accept that it is much better to have one healthy and happy child than five, born just to die of famine, disease or violence.
