They failed to seize their chance of renewal. To help save our planet they should openly advocate birth control and change the meaning of
"holy" from the mere blessedness of a dead human in paradise to things that have a direct bearing on life and our planet's survival,
such as forests, other resources, our fellow-creatures and biodiversity
